Skip Walther

Skip is a seasoned attorney, who practices in the areas of civil trials, real estate law, corporations, wills and trusts, and estate planning. Skip earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1979 and is a former Boone County assistant prosecuting attorney.   

Skip is a member of the Boone County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He served as President of The Missouri Bar in 2009-2010 and as a member of the Missouri Bar Board of Governors from 1999–2011. He has received the Citation of Merit from the University of Missouri Law School in 2009, which is the highest honor given an MU law alumnus. In 2011, Skip was appointed to a six year term on the Missouri Commission on Retirement, Removal and Discipline of Judges and he was also appointed in 2011 to the Missouri Supreme Court Committee on Civic Education.  

Skip currently serves as Chairman of the Downtown Columbia Community Improvement District Board of Directors and the Mayor’s Parking Task Force and writes a periodic column on downtown and legal issues for the Columbia Daily Tribune. He appeared as a weekly legal commentator on KOMU TV in Columbia from 1998 to 2001 and hosted or participated in a radio talk show program on legal and political issues on KFRU 1400 AM from 2000-2010.  

Skip continues to play competitive tennis on a national and international level, and has been ranked as high as #2 nationally in singles and doubles as well as achieving a standing of #13 internationally in singles. He has represented the United States in international tennis competition in Turkey, France, Canada, Great Britain and the United States and was elected to the International Lawn Tennis Club of the United States. He was inducted into the Missouri Valley Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2009.

Rusty Antel

Rusty practices exclusively as a criminal defense lawyer. He handles felony and misdemeanor charges in both State and Municipal Courts including driving while intoxicated and traffic violations. In addition, Rusty can represent you if you are having problems with your driver’s license being suspended or revoked and can assist you in obtaining hardship driving privileges. 

Rusty graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in history in 1976. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia school of law graduating in 1981. From 1981 to 1990, he served as an Assistant Boone County Prosecuting Attorney and served as First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney from 1984 to 1990. During his time as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Rusty handled a wide variety of cases and tried over 100 jury trials.  Since 1990, he has devoted his time to representing those persons charged with criminal and traffic offenses.  Rusty is a member of the Boone County Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and The Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Over the years, Rusty has been involved in service to the community. He has served on the Board of Directors of Reality House including a lengthy tenure as President.  He currently serves as the Chair Person of the Boone County Judicial and Law Enforcement Task Force and served as the Chairman of the Jail Population Sub-Committee’s for the Jail Task Force in 1997 and 2001. He has also served as a member of the Boone County Space Needs Committee which led to an addition to the Boone County Courthouse. He has served as a member of The Missouri Bar Criminal Justice Task Force Committee and has participated in the Boone County Bar Lawyer Mentoring Program.  

Rusty is the author of the chapter “Overview of Substantive Law Regarding DWI” in The Missouri Bar’s Law and Practice Desk Book. He has spoken extensively at continuing legal education programs for lawyers.

Gary Stamper

Gary Stamper is a highly regarded attorney practicing in the areas of divorce and family law, including custody, support and paternity. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1981, as well as the U.S. District Court Western District of Missouri and the U.S. Court of Appeals Eighth Circuit. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, where he was honored as a member of the Board of Advocates and the Order of the Barristers. He earned a B.S. in public administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Gary is a member of the Boone County Bar Association and the Missouri Bar. Gary received the Roger P. Krumm Award in 2012, honoring him as outstanding family lawyer of the year. Gary has been recognized among Best Lawyers three years in a row.  At the request of a friend and client, Gary began coaching the mock trials three years ago at Father Tolton, a Columbia Catholic school. The team had immediate success, winning the regional's and advancing to the State Tournament every year, likely attributed to the talented children and not the coach.

In his spare time, Gary is an age group triathlete with three Iron-Man finishes.
